Hiking up Mount Olympus

During holidays we like to stay active. Today we tried hiking up Mount Olympus. It is the highest mountain in Greece. Our climb started from the town of Litochoro. We took medium difficulty track. In my opinion this hike is a bit too hard for amateurs. To complete this track you must have hiking equipment or at least be fit. Path goes up and down and continues for 9 kilometers. Highest point of the track that you can reach is 1.1 kilometer. There are some rest areas to take breath. While climbing you can enjoy beautiful views. I just really love being in the Mountains. Breathing that air feels different and special. So we passed half of the track and decided it is enough for us. Going down was way easier than going up. After all we didn't feel very tired except feet were a bit hurting.
All in all, hiking is fun and a great way to loose some weight.
